Hi,
▎
▎ We are planning a free webOS TV app that works together with our iOS app. The iPhone reads game subtitles with its camera, translates them on-device, and sends the translated text over the local network to the TV app. The TV app shows the text at a position the user chooses, on top of the game playing on the HDMI input.
▎
▎ To stay on top of the HDMI input, we would use “transparent”: true and “defaultWindowType”: “floating” in appinfo.json. The iPhone app would launch the TV app via the Second Screen API and pass connection details as launch parameters.
▎
▎ Our questions:
▎ 1. Would an app using a transparent floating window over the HDMI input be accepted in the LG Content Store?
▎ 2. If not, is there an official API or approved way to display text over HDMI/game content?
▎ 3. Is a companion app that needs our iOS app to show content acceptable, if we provide a test account and a UX scenario for QA?
▎
▎ Thank you.
