Bug Report: Live IPTV Streams Freeze After 1–2 Seconds on webOS 26
TV model: LG 55QNED70B6C
webOS version: webOS 26
TV status: Newly purchased (a month ago)
Problem
I am experiencing a problem with live IPTV streaming on my newly purchased LG 55QNED70B6C.
Live IPTV channels start playing for approximately 1–2 seconds and then freeze or continuously buffer. The issue occurs with multiple IPTV applications, so it does not appear to be specific to a single application.
Tests performed
I tested the same IPTV service and account under the following conditions:
- XCIPTV: Live channels play for approximately 1–2 seconds and then freeze completely.
- SS IPTV: Live channels play intermittently and buffer every few seconds.
- Other IPTV applications: Similar live-stream playback problems occur.
- XCIPTV VOD/Movies: Work normally.
- iPhone: The same IPTV account and live channels work perfectly.
- Android Mi Box: The same IPTV account and live channels work perfectly.
- Mi Box connected to the same LG TV via HDMI: Live IPTV works perfectly on the same TV and the same network.
This strongly suggests that the IPTV service, internet connection, and TV display hardware are functioning normally. The problem appears to be related to live-stream playback through LG webOS.
Stream format testing
The IPTV account uses a TS stream. I also tested all available live-stream format options in XCIPTV:
- Default: Stream plays for approximately 1–2 seconds and then freezes.
- MPEGTS (.st): Same problem.
- HLS (.m3u8): Stream does not start and shows “No Signal”.
The IPTV provider’s API confirms that the account is active and that TS is the allowed output format.
Previous functionality
An important point is that this is not simply a case of XCIPTV being incompatible with my LG TV.
The TV is newly purchased, and I would therefore like to know whether there is a webOS 26 software or firmware issue affecting live HTTP/TS stream playback.
I would appreciate it if LG could investigate whether this is a known issue with webOS 26 or with the live-stream playback component used by webOS applications.
If necessary, I can provide additional information about the IPTV stream and the exact steps required to reproduce the problem. I couldn’t load videos to prove this issue.
Thank you.
