Hello,
I am using a LG TV with webOS and Developer Mode enabled.
I regularly use the application IBO Player Pro (IPTV player). The issue I am facing is that from time to time my IPTV subscription changes (for example domain change, renewal of the subscription, URL change, etc.).
When this happens, all my favorites and “continue watching” data are lost, because the application considers it as a new source.
I understand that applications on webOS are sandboxed and that user data is managed internally (Luna Service / private storage). However, I would like to know if there is any official or supported way on webOS to:
-
export or backup application user data (configuration, favorites, history), or
-
allow the user to save a configuration file locally, or
-
restore application data after a reset / URL change.
Even a read-only backup or a developer-level mechanism would be very useful to avoid losing user preferences.
Is this technically possible on webOS, or is it intentionally restricted for third-party store applications?
Thank you in advance for your clarification.
