webOS Studio – Failed to install IPK on Emulator (ECONNREFUSED 127.0.0.1:6622)

Hello everyone,

I am facing an issue while trying to run/install my webOS TV app on the emulator using webOS Studio.

When I try to install the IPK, I get the following error:

ERROR: Failed to install
.ipk on emulator
ares-install ERR!
Syscall failure: connect ECONNREFUSED 127.0.0.1:6622
Please check the device IP address or the port number

Environment details:

  • OS: Windows

  • IDE: webOS Studio

  • Emulator: LG webOS TV Emulator (offline/default)

  • App type: webOS TV web app

  • Emulator IP: 127.0.0.1

  • Port: 6622

What I’ve checked so far:

  • Emulator is added under Known Devices

  • Device status shows offline/default

  • App builds successfully, but installation fails

  • webOS TV Simulator shows “not installed” in Simulator Manager

I’m not sure if this is related to the emulator not running properly, port issues, or a missing simulator package.

Please check if you have installed emulators first. You can find the list of installed emulators in the EMULATOR MANAGER view. Thank you.

i have done lot of apps that was working before perfectly, Emulator working fine but not running on TV

Do you mean you have installed emulators? Or is the problem with testing apps on a TV device, not the emulator?
