Request for guidance to prevent app from entering idle / screen saver mode on webOS

I would like to request guidance regarding preventing our webOS TV application from entering idle or screen saver mode.

Our application is a digital signage player. It dynamically renders content such as images, password templates, layouts, and other visual elements. Although there are moments when no video is playing, the application is still actively running, updating the screen, and presenting content to the user.

From the system’s perspective, it seems the TV considers the app idle when no video element is playing, causing the device to enter screen saver or standby mode. This behavior is problematic for our use case, since the app is not inactive and must remain visible at all times.

In short:

The app is a player and always active

It displays images and dynamic templates, not only videos

Even without video playback, the screen must stay awake

Entering idle or screen saver mode breaks the expected behavior

Could you please advise on the recommended or officially supported way to keep a webOS application awake while it is actively rendering non-video content?
Any APIs, permissions, configuration flags, or best practices to prevent the TV from going into standby or screen saver mode would be greatly appreciated.

On webOS TV, the screensaver always works except while playing a video in full screen. You can refer to Screensaver. webOS TV is a consumer TV and is inappropriate for the purpose of displaying. If you need that feature, please consider LG commercial display. There are 2 types: webOS Signage and Pro:Centric. Thank you.
