Hello,
I am preparing a web app for LG webOS TV (not yet submitted) and I am adding “requiredACG” to appinfo.json, following the Access Control Group guide (Access Control Group (ACG) | webOS TV Developer).
For my documented Luna calls I took the groups from the API ACG list:
- com.webos.service.sm deviceid/getIDs → deviceinfo.query
- com.palm.systemservice time/getSystemTime → time.query
- webOSTV.js 1.2.13 webOS.deviceInfo → systemconfig.query, settings.query, arc.query, externalinput.query, profile.query
To control the embedded subtitles of the playing media in the HTML5 video element (using its mediaId), I also call luna://com.webos.media:
- setSubtitleEnable
- selectTrack (type “text”)
- setSubtitleFontSize
- setSubtitleCharacterColor
- setSubtitleBackgroundColor
- setSubtitleBackgroundOpacity
com.webos.media is not in the API ACG list. My questions:
- Do these com.webos.media methods require an ACG group on webOS TV 26 and later? If so, which group name should I declare?
- If they require no group, will these calls keep working once requiredACG is declared, on webOS TV 26 and 27?
- Is com.webos.media an acceptable API for a webOS TV store app, or is there a supported way to select and style embedded subtitle tracks from an HTML5 video element on webOS TV?
- What happens if appinfo.json lists a group name the system does not recognise: is it ignored, or does packaging, installation or QA fail?
I cannot test enforcement myself, because my test TV runs webOS TV 5 (55NANO916NA, webOS TV 5.6.2), which ignores the field.
I asked the same in the Seller Lounge 1:1 Q&A; they replied that it is outside that channel’s scope.
Thank you,
Caglar
